Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season presents a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
